For the fondue dinner you will be equipped with the longest forks you have ever seen and some colorful aprons. You will stand around a huge pot full of cheese, which is hanging over the fire. Use the fork to dip your bread and other side dishes into the delicious fondue and enjoy great company and beautiful surroundings. Of course there is a digestive and some homemade cookies for dessert!

We have prepared many challenging games such as team ski, snowshoe football, sawing, nailing, avalanche rescue, rope skills, snow sculptures building, snowball catapult and many more! The winter olympic parcours takes around two hours. There will be a certificate and a small price for the winner team. Of course some snacks and a few drinks are provided.

A fun treasure hunt will lead you and your team through the charming village Trient. Along the way you will have to solve some tasks and find all the right answers to the questionnaire. You will also need some orienteering skills while transferring the coordinates to the map and finding the right places. The treasure hunt takes around 1 hour.

More about Chamonix Valley

The Haute Savoie is a department in the Rhône Alps, which is located in the south east of France. The Haute Savoie is border to both countries - Italy and Switzerland. The capitol of the department is Annecy, a town with a beautiful lake and a historical old-town. It is also nicknamed “The Venice of the Alps”. The breathtaking mountains in the entire region and especially in the Mont Blanc range, attract thousands of tourists every year. Many ambitious alpinists challenge their selves by climbing the roof of Europe - the famous Mont Blanc with an altitude of 4810 meters above sea level. The Mont Blanc Valley Chamonix is known as Europes outdoor capitol. Each year, it attracts thousands of extreme mountaineers and skiers from all over the world. Via the Aiguille Midi cable car, one can access the world’s most famous off-piste run, the Vallée Blanche. The run starts at 3842 meters above sea level and ends down in the center of Chamonix. The Mer de Glace is the biggest glacier in France and one of the biggest in Europe. You can visit a real ice cave which is underneath the glacier.Chamonix is also the town of the first winter Olympics ever held in 1924. In 1741, the two young English aristocrats, William Windham and Richard Pocock, visited the Mer de Glace above Chamonix. They had no idea that the recital of their visit to this small mountain village and its glaciers had such an impact on the whole of Europe. The first hotel opened in 1770 and marked the early development of the hotel trade and the first mountaineering exploits. The Mont Blanc was first climbed in 1786 by Jacques Balmat and the doctor Michel Paccard. The ascent had a great impact on Chamonix to become a popular mountaineering destination. In 1821, the Compagnie des Guides was created and tourism increased immensely. Only six years later there were already 39 hotels in Chamonix. Chamonix is surrounded by impressive peaks. The Aiguille Rouges on the north-west side and the MontBlanc massif with the famous Aiguille du Midi on the southeast side. Check our article about Chamonix for more information!

More about Vallée du Trient

The canton of Valais is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is the canton of the giant mountains. There are 41 peaks above 4000 meter located in the Valais whilst there are only 82 in the entire Alps. The canton of Valais is widely known for the Matterhorn and resort towns such as Crans-Montana, Saas Fee, Verbier and Zermatt. It is composed of 13 districts (hence the 13 stars on the flag). The canton is simultaneously one of the driest regions of Switzerland in its central Rhône valley and among the wettest, having large amounts of snow and rain up on the highest peaks found in Switzerland. The Rhône valley is famous for its numerous vineyards and apricot trees. Many of the towns, down in the valley, such as Martigny, Visp or Leuk, where once settled by the Romans.

Trient

Trient is located on the foot of an impressive glacier. In the 19th century huge ice blocks where transported by train and soled expensive in the big cities such as Paris. One of the steepest cog rail trains (87%) leads up to the Emosson dam. The water is used to produce electricity for the Swiss railway. Trient has a bright pink church and is also home for Raphael and Anja from Happy Tracks.

Vallée du Trient

The Trient Valley, a source of well-being in the heart of the Espace Mont-Blanc welcomes you for an authentic and unforgettable experience with family or friends. Unspoilt nature, unique attractions, exceptional panoramic views, villages steeped in history and a warm-hearted population are the major assets of a region ideally located close to Martigny (Switzerland), Chamonix (France) and Aosta (Italy). Composed of the villages of Vernayaz, Salvan-Les Marécottes, Finhaut-Emosson, Trient-Col de la Forclaz and Vallorcine, it is entirely connected by the spectacular Mont Blanc Express railway.

More about this tour

Personal preparation
Most of the evening you will spend outside in the snow so please wear warm, waterproof clothes. For the sledging we recommend to bring a helmet for your own safety. Your shoes should have a good profile, be waterproof and high ancle. It is difficult and not comfortable to strap snowshoes around sneakers. The profile of your sole is important to be able to break on your sledge. If you get thirsty or hungry during the trek please bring a small back pack with water and some snacks if needed. If you are coming from Chamonix please do not forget your passport as we are crossing the border.

Equipment list
To ensure a smooth and fun evening we recommend to bring the following equipment:

  • Gloves
  • Beanie / Headband
  • Ski trousers or similar
  • Suitable winter clothing (warm jacket / long underwear etc.)
  • High ankle boots (e.g. hiking boots, Sorel boots, no sneakers!)

Sledding slope
Sledding is an outdoor activity with lots of adrenaline! We make this experience as safe as possible with a good instruction, well-maintained gear and a professional secured slope.

Nevertheless, as in most outdoor activities, accidents can still happen. Please be aware that you descend the sledding slope at your own risk and Happy Tracks and the responsible guides cannot be held liable in the case of an accident!

Weather / snow conditions
The activity depends a lot on snow and weather conditions. It is possible that the tour has to be cancelled last minute due to unfavorable conditions. In this case we will give you a full refund or you can choose another date.

Pick up
We will pick you up from your accommodation in the Chamonix-Valley or in Martigny. Please be ready with all personal gear to the confirmed pick up times to guarantee a smooth and hassle free experience. Food

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

We have great vegetarian options. For vegans or lactose intolerance we can prepare a vegetable soup instead of the fondue. We can provide gluten free bred but you there will be only one cheese pot.

Food

What beverages are included?

We serve homemade mulled wine, hot chocolate, white wine and tea. Please bring your own water. As we are in the middle of the forest we cannot offer other beverages such as coke beer etc. as everything has to be carried to the spot.

Happy Tracks were great to deal with from start to finish and I couldn't recommend them enough. Raphael and Anja were fast to respond to emails, answering all of my picky questions, addressing concerns and offering some advice where needed, as well as planning an activity day to fit my spec. I was organising a group of 35-40yr old men on a stag trip and needed something that somehow balanced fun and different with practicality and expense. Happy Tracks made all the planning very easy, from airport and accommodation transfers to the activity day itself. Especially considering only 2 days before our trip, a landslide & closed roads meant they had to completely rearrange everything! Somehow, it all went as planned. We had a great snowshoe walk to blow the cobwebs away, stopped for a delicious lunch (made by Anja) before playing some winter games. We had a sled race back down the mountain, a few more games, then some really nice cake (again made by Anja) before heading back to town. Raphael and Anja were great to deal with, both in the lead up to our trip and in person on the day. Everyone in our group told me how good a time they had and I've passed Happy Tracks details on to most for future trips, which I think tells you everything :)
